Everybody wonder where my love for pro wrestling started?
It goes back when I was a kid, watching the shows on Saturday morning either WWE or WCW. These guys put all their hard work in the ring. I'm talking guys like Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Steve Austin, Sting, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan...Guys who are legends in the ring.
When my dad died when I was 9, I didn't watch wrestling for a while. Then, in about 1999, my love for the sport kicked right back up with the Corporate Ministry angle. It was indeed my favorite storyline of that year. The war between Undertaker and Austin, was incredible.
Later on, the Invasion angle came about and it was all I was talking about during my middle school years. I loved the sport so much, even my mother didn't mind it. These stories is where yours truly get entranced.
When TNA arrived in 2002, I didn't watch it until 2005. I liked what these guys did and watched it every Friday after school, but when I graduated, I watched it more often. When my mom died during the summer of 2005, part of me felt like I went through a barricade.
Nowadays, I still follow the big leagues, but also follow the independent scene and the women's wrestling scene as well. Names like Cheerleader Melissa, Saraya Knight, Nicole Matthews, Lufisto, Courtney Rush, MsChif, Jessicka Havok, Allysin Kay, Sassy Stephie and many others kickstarted my passion for wrestling. These women deserve the opportunities that no one would ever give them. I am forever in their debt as a fan and I'll will continue to support this specific genre of wrestling as a fan.
If I had the opportunity to go back in time, I would have loved to see some of the all time greats go toe to toe with each other. But I enjoyed every classic moment and every classic match as a fan.
